Enjoy Breakfast Out– The Calories Don't Count (As Much)
January 14, 2020
Is breakfast really the most important meal of the day? We’ve all been taught that breaking the fast is crucial to performing our best throughout the day, but does science back that theory up?
Nutritionally speaking, it doesn’t matter whether you eat first thing in the morning or wait until later in the day; your body will utilize nutrients the same.
However, in terms of weight management, the timing of when you consume your calories does matter.
Nutritional studies comparing weight loss results show that people eating earlier in the day lose more weight than people eating the exact same diet later in the day.
The difference has to do with our circadian rhythm. Our bodies want to wind down as the sun sets, and that includes metabolism, so if you are trying to lose a few pounds with the new year, eat a good breakfast, and don’t eat within a few hours of going to bed.
