Spring Cleaning Made Easy

Written by Elle Tomaszewski, http://www.styelled.com

It's that time of the year again -- that time where we throw things away, clean out our closets and dust our homes from top to bottom. But, how do you know where to start?

I've been reading all about these 30-day Spring cleaning challenges all over the internet. What I've realized is that they all suggest the same thing, to clean one thing each day for 30 days. We want to suggest doing it room by room for five days instead. Why not cut corners? Who has time for a 30 day cleaning challenge? Not us!

Day 1
Start off the first day by cleaning all of the bathrooms in your home. Scrub the floors, clean out the toilet, windex the mirrors, wash the shower curtain, bleach the toilet bowl and the shower, wipe down the sink and shine the faucets.

Day 2
It's time to clean the kitchen! Throw out all old food in the fridge and do the same with the pantry, clean the inside of the oven and the stovetop, clean out the microwave, wipe off the countertops, take everything out of the cabinets and wipe down the shelves, clean the flooring and wipe down the sink.

Day 3
Living areas need cleaning too! It's time to vacuum all carpets, windex all of the windows, clean the light fixtures, dust the baseboards and the windowsills, vacuum the couch and cushions and wipe down all tables.

Day 4
It's time to give your bedroom some attention. Vacuum the carpet, clean the windows and windowsills, clean anything out from under the bed, wash and dry the bedsheets and the quilt or duvet cover. Lastly, don't forget lightly dusting!

Day 5
This day is dedicated to closets and dressers. Create three piles -- throw away, give away and Goodwill! Go through all of your clothes and sort them as necessary. You'll feel so much lighter after you let go of things you don't need anymore!

Happy cleaning everyone!
