Healthy Goals for the New Year

Written by Elle Tomaszewski, http://www.styelled.com

I don't know about y'all, but I always have the hardest time achieving the goals I set for myself every year. I think the main problem is that we set goals that are unattainable. Let's make 2019 the year of realistic, attainable goals! Here are some of my goals that I think I can actually achieve!

1. Say no.
My biggest problem is my inability to say no. I say yes to everything. In 2019, I want to say no to the things I don't want to do or don't have time for. I think my level of stress will go down and I'll have more time to put into the things that I do say yes to!

2. Take everything one week at a time.
Sometimes I get overwhelmed when I think too far ahead. Instead of planning out my whole month, I'm going to take things week by week -- aside from dates I set. I'll keep a monthly calendar for dates, but when it comes to daily tasks, I'm going to plan those every Sunday evening.

3. Pick out one evening per week to relax.
Something I tend to do way too often is work all day long. In the new year, I want to get my work done earlier in the day so I can relax at night and recharge for the next day! In addition, I want to pick one night out of every week to relax and spend time doing something I love.

4. Keep a diary.
This is kind of something I already do, but I don't use it enough. Keeping a diary is so good for your mental health. Sometimes we get overwhelmed with life and we have no one to talk to. I think the best way to express your feelings is by writing them out. Whenever I'm upset or worried, I get out my diary and I write everything that's on my mind. Sometimes it helps me figure out why I'm feeling a certain way and what I can do to fix it!

5. Make daily to-do lists.
Making a daily to-do list is a great way to get things done without procrastinating. That feeling of relief you get every time you cross something off your list is what will keep you motivated throughout the day!
